UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship – Sunday Nights from 3:30-6:00 in the Loft (at Oakley Chapel). Here is how the night goes
3:30-4:00 - Big Group
4:00-5:00 - Oakley Angel's/Disciples of Faith meet
5:00-5:30 - Dinner with Kid's Praise
5:30-6:00 - Youth Choir
Big Group - Is were both groups come together to discuss announcements and do any planning. This time is completly student led.
Oakley Angel's - Is for anyone in 6th - 8th grades. During this time we fellowship together focus on learning on topics such as the bible basics, faith development and methodism.
Disciples of Faith - Is for anyone in 9th - 12th grades. During this time we fellowship and focus our learning on topics such as specific bible studies, living out our faith and controversial topics (suicide, depression, etc...).
Youth Choir – Sunday Nights from 5:30-6:00 at Oakley Chapel. (Only meets during the school year)
Here are some of our other oppurunities to get together and worship and be in fellowship.
Sunday School – Sunday mornings from 10:00-11:00.
Skia Night – Every Tuesday Night at Skia Bookstore in Bentonville. At Skia Night we hang out and have an evening devotion. To learn more about skia check out their website at www.skiastore.com
Student Leadership - Once a month the youth come together as a Youth Council to make decisions for the youth program. We have several positions of student leadership who serve on the council. Here are just some of the few areas youth serve
Youth Representative - One youth is chosen by the youth to be representative to serve on church committees and to speak on behalf of the youth for groups such as DCYM (District Council on Youth Ministries). This person also make announcements during church and during Big Group time at UMYF and serve as the head of Youth Council.
Planning Committees - All youth are given the oppurtunities to be on a planning committees. There are three committees: Activities, Missions, Fundraising/Hospitality. These committees plan and execute all of our activities and outings such as Fall Retreat, Pool Parties and mission activities.
